Orisa [Shango] Appeasement

One of his many titles " When Shango speaks  the whole world listens "Nigba ti Shango soro gbogbo aye ngbọ."(Thunder)  

When this orisa is agitated with his followers or devotees his priests  take great diligence calming this electric energy.  

The priest acquires leaves of the Ficus religiosa ("Bo Tree" "Alamo") placing these in Shango's vessel completely covering his ìkọkọ-secret. These same leaves are indispensable in the Shango Cult.

A head petition (rogacion) is done to cool down the transmitted energy on the Ori of the devotee. Using leaves of Siam weed,Alamo,coconut meal,red palm oil and any other requests of the Orisa.  This devotee then offers Shango and the Ori Corn porridge With okra.  This orisa is also known to be persuaded with abundant amounts of foods.  Green bananas, Corn breads,Chicken stews. One of his Favorites is "Yellow yam porridge"

In this Path, Shango was the obba inle and the most powerful of Oba
in all the Yoruba kingdoms having very powerful enemies, who crouched in the
shadows plotting to destroy Shango.

Shango was preparing to go to war and that war was filled with his enemies
waiting to  assassinate Shango., Shango went for a divination with
Orunmila, Odu marked ebbo. Odu reveals
numerous enemies are veiled awaiting in the shadows to 
slaughter Shango.

Orunmila asked Shango for one of his scepters to enchant a spell, making
it a terrible and powerful weapon to defend himself.

Orunmila Grabbed the scepter at Shango's waist, A staff adored with a gorilla head.
Orunmila Enchanted it with a spell using Special ingredients.
Orunmila then applies the skin of the sacrificed goat to the Scepter including the feathers of the Doves.

Orula proclaims'
Shango I baptize you in the name of Okumambo and teach you the Suyere (invoking chant) that activates The Okumambo scepter. Use this Suyere in combat to defeat all your enemies.

Shango prepared his army for war and when they were
in the midst of battle, Shango raised the Okumambo scepter singing:
Orogbo araye Shango kobo okumambo
Abo okumambo boruko okumambo!

All those who were enemies of Shango were struck by the power of okumambo.
Those who fell were enemies who were hiding under the mask of friendship.

The power of Okumambo is a roaring pressure of Thunder. This energy is a pounding crushing force.

Defence from the dark arts

Practitioners and followers of the Laws of Orisa and Palo are never told about this.

Every Orisa or Nfumbe is an energy. Like all energy it has a positive and a negative side.  We too have this same vibration. We can be benevolent or Maleficent. The Orisa or Nfumbe are no different.  “Same subject different side of one stick”.

you will hear in your ita never  anger your crowning Orisa or any Orisa is a real No No. But what happens when there is a Ego that feels the intent to harm you or send you a power punch “Fulaso”  

How can you defend yourself against Oshun or Yemaya as an example . Let’s say you offended this Ego intentionally or unintentionally. They feel that you offended them, you insulted their Crowning Energy. What Then?

You too have an Oshun/Yemaya as a crown, how and why would Oshun bring this to you? What is the cause that even your own Orisa or any Orisa bring you ruin. The answer is not so simple.

One’ It is not your Orisa or Egun but Your Ori Eleda. Second is Eshu.  Who is Ori Eleda, this is your guardian. Ori eleda is the creator or your reality. It serves you, it gives the instructions to  the crowning Orisa or Egun.  There is no misfortune that can come to you if your Ori eleda does not allow it. This is the reason we in the faith protect our heads, perform head petitions “Rogacion” offering the Ori eleda coconut, water fruits etc.

If your guardian Ori is cool and collective it will not allow any misfortune to come to you. Even Eshu follows the process.  If your Ori eleda is unhappy with your decisions and choices/conduct. If Ori feels abandoned it will become your worst enemy.  You have to understand that Ori before entering into your head, right before your birth, it swore an oath to live a certain life.  If that oath is not being met. If finds ways to terminate the body it resides, only to return once more to the heavens to come back again with the hopes of doing better. examples of this are so many in the streets and in asylums or people with really bad luck. It’s not bad luck it’s the disconnection with the better part of the voice inside “The intuition-Ori eleda”.

Go against this and find your ruin. [ Is it not your intuitions that guide you to seek advice from Ifa, Adele or mediums etc?  Is it not your intuitions that guide you to offer Ebo to Orisa? Is Orisa/Egun not serving your needs? ]

Back to the situation at hand. Orisa/Egun has brought you ruin how do I defend myself?  There are  certain elements and plants that are tabu to the energies. Some plants have the ability to implode the energy shrines as with Anamu. Ewe Yilebo with Urine from a black she goat deactivates witchcraft created by using Ngangas.

Some elements of nourishment are also tabu. These same tabu are repellents toward the energies.  We all know You would not offer Oya-Yansa Goat meat. Nor Catfish to Oshun, Red palm wine to Obatala nor vulture feathers to Shango. Why? Goat was Oya best friend that betrayed her. Catfish are Oshun daughters, Red palm wine is Obatala cause for creating deformities, Vultures are never present in or around thunderstorms.

But just because you can purchase these elements does not mean by sole possession you obtain virtue against these energy forces. You must understand how to execute the releasing of the Tabu. Example If I know that it is Eshu, I would offer him at his shrine a kind offering, with lots of toys.  Placing in the interior of my door toys that produce sounds to keep Eshu busy, unit a cleansing can be done.

This time is when a Head petitions “Rogacion” would be my best chance of defense, then asking what else is the task needed to obtain alignment. When you go for a reading with Ifa or with Adele you and Ori are seeking advice  from Orisa/Egun. These energies are giving the advice to strengthen yourself against some misfortune to come.
